Heading up our team is award-winning motor insurance expert Bert Hofhuis, one of South Africa’s leaders in his field.

Bert Hofhuis is a founder & entrepreneur simplifying the often confusing world of car insurance.

With CarInsuranceCheck, he demystifies the processes involved in securing the right coverage, helping consumers make informed decisions with ease and assurance.

Education

Bert Hofhuis built a strong foundation in the financial industry before entering the car insurance space.

He completed courses on insurance fundamentals, gaining in-depth knowledge of policy structures, risk assessment, and claims processes.

His academic training focused on the intricacies of car insurance, preparing him to navigate both regulatory frameworks and the evolving needs of consumers. This formal education, combined with ongoing learning in insurance trends and practices, has positioned him as a knowledgeable expert in the field.

Experience

In his long professional career, Bert has worked with multinational companies and governments, consulting on various financial and logistical projects in Africa, Europe and Asia.

Most notably he was recognised for his contributions to:

TMEA Logistics Innovation for Trade Fund (LIFT) as an business and finance expert for Nathan Inc in Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania (on behalf of UK DFID).
Grindrod Logistics as a financing and asset audit specialist in Southern Africa.
GIZ as Team Leader with specialist business financial acumen, tasked with developing a Fleet Management System and Asset Management Policy for the Government of Malawi (on behalf of the German Government).
The Samsun Logistics Centre (SLC) funded by the EU in Samsun Turkey as a business financial planning expert (on behalf of the EU).
The establishment of CFS facilities for Damco, Djibouti (on behalf of the AP Moller Maersk Group) as both a financial and logistics executive.
A project initiated by the Investment Board of Nepal as a financial feasibility specialist (on behalf of UK DFID)
